Throughout her 20-year tenure with HAWS, Lynn Olenik held education as a key part of our mission. Her leadership underscored her strong belief in HAWS’ role in the community as the primary pet and education resource center in Waukesha County, and beyond.

Lynn agreed with her mentors, Mike Schallock and Romey Schoeninger, that offering exemplary education programs, and encouraging life-long learning, improves the lives of all beings in our community - through shared kindness, compassion and empathy. To honor Lynn’s tremendous impact on HAWS and our community, we have created the Lynn Olenik Education Fund, to be used to support both those in our community taking part in the many opportunities we offer, and also to those staff members seeking to grow their knowledge in animal welfare. It is our hope that this fund will provide even greater access to those looking to continue growing our humane community.
