A special opportunity exists to memorialize our resident animal friends that have been so vital to our education programs.

Since opening in 2021 the SCA has had resident horses and goats. This is one of the first journeys into caring for resident animals. Those animals help not only with education but can also be a source of comfort and care to the staff and volunteers that know them. Cal, Bucky, Monet’ and Big Sur have all passed on while in service to our great education program. Many of you were close to these guys.

Here is where you come in.

Thanks to a generous donation, we will be doing a ceramic art installation at the SCA in memorial to these guys, and future resident animals that serve our community education program! WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We need 48 tiles, crafted by animal lovers, to make the memorial. We will then add specific plaques to the frame, in honor of the resident animals that have passed. The crafting of the tiles will be led by local artist Jennifer Alexander. Where the price is normally $35.oo for an event of this nature, thanks to a generous donation we can have our staff and volunteers craft a tile for no charge!
