Community Advocate Camp
Rising 6-8 Grade
At Community Advocate Camp, campers become leaders, helpers, and changemakers while building meaningful connections with animals and their community. This unique, hands-on camp combines leadership development, service learning, and animal interaction to inspire compassion, confidence, and teamwork.
Throughout the week, campers will strengthen leadership skills through group challenges, team-building activities, and collaborative projects designed to encourage communication, problem-solving, and empathy. Campers will also participate in service-based experiences that support the community, helping them understand how small actions can create a big impact. Campers will learn to advocate for our animal friends, especially our resident horses and goats that live at our Schallock Center for Animals.

Morning & Afternoon Care
Drop-off time for those without morning extended care is 8:45am or later. Extended care is available for an extra fee from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. You must register in advance for extended care.
If your child isn’t signed up for morning extended care, please plan to drop them off at 8:45 a.m. or later. A late fee of $1.00 per minute applies for late pickups (after 4:00pm without extended care or after 5:00pm with extended care.) If you think timing might be tight, we recommend signing up for extended care to make things easier for everyone!
For safety reasons, please do not drop children off early unless they’re registered for morning extended care. While staff are on-site, they won’t expect your child unless they’re signed up, and we want to be sure every camper is safely checked in.
Children Information
It is important to inform HAWS of any special needs; physical, medical, mental or emotional, that your child may have so that we can provide a successful HAWS experience. Failure to inform HAWS of any of these needs that are necessary to know when instructing your child may result in your child being unable to participate and a loss of program fees.
Payment and Registration
There will be a 30% administrative fee for all cancellations. There will be no refunds or transfers given within two weeks of the start of the program session.
HAWS Membership Discount
HAWS Members can receive a 12% discount off camp registration. Anyone who adopted an animal from HAWS (701 Northview Road in Waukesha) within the last year is a member (this does not apply to adoptions from other organizations).
To take advantage of the 12% membership discount, use the promo code MEMBER26 at check-out. HAWS will check membership status upon receipt of your camp registration.
