ADVANCED EQUINE EXPLORERS
Grades 8-10
Ready to trot into the next chapter? Advanced Equine Explorers is calling all 8th-10th graders with a bit of previous horse experience looking to level up while they saddle up!
In this more advanced program, you’ll have even more opportunities to ride, build confidence, and take on new challenges with the HAWS herd. Plus, you’ll dive deeper into the responsibilities of horse care, from mucking stalls to maintaining tack, and everything in between.
Program Highlights:
-
Emphasis on Equitation: Hop in the saddle for independent riding opportunities to hone your skills with an emphasis on refining riding positioning.
-
Barn Hand Basics: Work alongside the SCA staff, helping with chores and learning what it really takes to tend to a herd.
-
Groundwork Guru: Practice communicating with your horse from the ground by lunging and trying out more advanced maneuvers.
-
Social Connections: Meet fellow horse enthusiasts and share your passion for all things equine!
- Pony Palooza: Join us for an exciting "Lock-In" event at the barn, where kids will show off their horsemanship skills, help care for the herd, and take part in awesome games, challenges, and hands-on learning. This event is held one Saturday a semester.
