Agility Basics
Agility Basics is where the real excitement begins! Designed for dogs and handlers who have completed Intro to Agility, 12 months or older, this class gets your dog hands-on with jumps, tunnels, and contacts in a friendly, supportive setting. You’ll work together on short obstacle sequences that build focus, confidence, and clear communication — all while discovering your dog’s unique style and enthusiasm.
This class is all about strengthening your bond and having fun as you lay the foundation for smooth, confident course running at the next level. Get ready to jump in, have a blast, and watch your team shine!
Class Highlights:
- Introduction to Agility Obstacles: Learn the basics of navigating weave poles, contact objects, and more.
- Building Safe Obstacle Skills: Help your dog learn to safely approach, engage with, and confidently complete obstacles.
- Sequencing: Your dog learns to confidently run sequences of up to 5 obstacles while responding to your movements
- Positive Reinforcement: Focus on reward-based training to create a positive experience for your dog.
Prerequisites:
- Intro to Agility or Similar Level of Training, minimum strong Recall, Stay, and Wait cues are ideal.
- Dog must be crated while they are not working with you or the instructor.
