Winter Goat Camp
Grades 2-5
Get ready for a camp full of laughter, learning, and lots of goat time! Campers will step into the world of goats to discover what makes them such curious and lovable animals. Throughout the day, campers will get opportunities to interact with the herd, learn how they stay happy and healthy through the Wisconsin winter and create a baaaa-utiful craft to bring home. This camp might just be the GOAT.
Camp Highlights
- Hang with the Herd: Get up close and personal with our five resident goats, with plenty of hands on time throughout the day.
-
Goat Behavior Detectives: Observe goat body language and learn how these expressive animals “talk” without words.
-
Winter Crafting: Create a winter-themed goat craft to bring home some of the fun!
- Cold Weather Care: Discover how goats stay happy and cozy through the chilly Wisconsin winters.
NOTE: THIS CAMP WILL BE HELD INSIDE OF OUR SEMI HEATED BARN. THE FACILITY WILL BE WARMER THAN THE OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE, BUT IT CAN STILL GET CHILLY. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY!
** HAWS has safety as our top priority. Animal interactions and activities involving animals are at staff discretion. Due to weather or for the well-being of our animals, the schedule may be adjusted for the safety and comfort of both the campers and animals.
Morning & Afternoon Care
Drop-off time for those without morning extended care is 8:45am or later. Extended care is available for an extra fee from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. You must register in advance for extended care.
If your child isn’t signed up for morning extended care, please plan to drop them off at 8:45 a.m. or later. A late fee of $1.00 per minute applies for late pickups (after 4:00pm without extended care or after 5:00pm with extended care.) If you think timing might be tight, we recommend signing up for extended care to make things easier for everyone!
For safety reasons, please do not drop children off early unless they’re registered for morning extended care. While staff are on-site, they won’t expect your child unless they’re signed up, and we want to be sure every camper is safely checked in.
Child's Information
It is important to inform HAWS of any special needs; physical, medical, mental or emotional, that your child may have so that we can provide a successful HAWS experience. Failure to inform HAWS of any of these needs that are necessary to know when instructing your child may result in your child being unable to participate and a loss of program fees.
Payment and Registration
There will be a 30% administrative fee for all cancellations. There will be no refunds or transfers given within two weeks of the start of the program session.
