SCA's Winter Horse Camp (Ages 7-9)

It's a winter wonderland at SCA! Join us for this exciting and educational two day camp and experience the magic of the barn in a whole new way. Through hands-on learning, fun themed crafts, and a chance to meet our resident herd, campers will explore how horses and other animals adapt and thrive in the winter season. You won't want to miss out on this all new winter barn adventure!

Camp Highlights 

  • Meet the HAWS Herd: Each day, campers will get to learn and play with our resident horses and goats.

  • Winter Adaptations at the Barn: Learn how horses, goats, and other animals stay healthy and comfortable through the chilly Wisconsin winter.

  • Seasonal Crafts & Activities: Make winter crafts and participate in educational activities that tie into what we're learning. 

  • Become a Winter Wrangler: Saddle up in the snow for a beginner-friendly horseback riding session. 

**NOTE: THIS CAMP WILL BE HELD INSIDE OF OUR SEMI HEATED BARN. THE FACILITY WILL BE WARMER THAN THE OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE, BUT IT CAN STILL GET CHILLY. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY!**

Morning & Afternoon Care 

Drop-off time for those without morning extended care is 8:45am or later. Extended care is available for an extra fee from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. You must register in advance for extended care.

If your child isn’t signed up for morning extended care, please plan to drop them off at 8:45 a.m. or later. A late fee of $1.00 per minute applies for late pickups (after 4:00pm without extended care or after 5:00pm with extended care.) If you think timing might be tight, we recommend signing up for extended care to make things easier for everyone!

For safety reasons, please do not drop children off early unless they’re registered for morning extended care. While staff are on-site, they won’t expect your child unless they’re signed up, and we want to be sure every camper is safely checked in.

Children Information

It is important to inform HAWS of any special needs; physical, medical, mental or emotional, that your child may have so that we can provide a successful HAWS experience. Failure to inform HAWS of any of these needs that are necessary to know when instructing your child may result in your child being unable to participate and a loss of program fees.

Payment and Registration

There will be a 30% administrative fee for all cancellations. There will be no refunds or transfers given within two weeks of the start of the program session. 

HAWS Membership Discount

HAWS Members can receive a 12% discount off camp registration. Anyone who adopted an animal from HAWS (701 Northview Road in Waukesha) within the last year is a member (this does not apply to adoptions from other organizations).
